@JaesonDaniel: You are responding to a four month-old thread, and it's impolite to interrupt another poster's ongoing thread with a question of your own. Please post your own topic.

What is impolite asking if her proposed solution worked? Better to ask and do research on an issue before I start messing with databases I know nothing about.

The rest of the information is just stating I'm in her same situation.

Hello,

I am looking to perhaps open an account with Wordpress.com ( A Business Account ) where I would like to open up an online e-commerce store.

However, I don't have any experience with wordpress or how to go about looking for themes to install. Is themeforest and templatemonster the best places to look for wordpress ecommerce themes?

Is godaddy.com a good wordpress hosting service?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks contentiskey,

What about the trade offs and/or options here when comparing using wordpress.com and purchasing an upgrade for eCommerce, or purchasing an eCommerce based wordpress theme externally, and using Godaddy's hosting services?

When looking at the wordpress.com premium themes, they seem to only be geared towards blogs. I wonder If i look at themeforest or templatemonster, If i would find wordpress themes specifically designed for eCommerce and eCommerce only?

There are themes for WordPress from various authors that can be used for many purposes.

More flexibility for appearance and functionality with WordPress.org (self hosted). More stuff to set up compared to WordPress.com. As website owner, you are responsible for updates to software.

Here is an idea for a simple + free ecommerce theme that is designed to work with Woo Commerce in a self hosted WordPress website.

WooCommerce also offers themes

If I use wordpress.com and don't want to use any of their premium themes, can I go to woothemes to purchase one and use it on wordpress.com?

mdolberry - can you help. I'm not a web developer or know HTML code. with the upgrade of WordPress 4.3.1 running Twenty Fourteen theme, I lost a lot of my content such as my front (home) page slider (carousel) and all the content that was on my front page. Also, each of my pages are narrow and centered, instead of expanded to stretch across the screen.

I'm trying to use the WordPress tutorials, but they are confusing to a non-web developer. My site is http://www.naaahr-sde.com

For now, I will try to create a Child Theme. Can you help or point me in the right direction? Thanks

dear all,

i have transferred a new domain from another godaddy account, and changed the nameservers so that i have the control over the domain.the domain is mzonelb.com and i'm trying to host this domain with my new hosting plan that i bought before, basic wordpress managed plan.

whenever i head to hosting in my godaddy account and want to setup the wordpress by adding the mzonelb.com domain which i have it says that the domain mzonelb.com is in use ...

my nameservers are NS**.domaincontrol.com
after that, i tried to setup a temporary domain with the hosting plan to know its ip address, and then went to the dns of the domain mzonelb.com and pasted the ip address that brought from the temporary hosting before, and then deleted the temporary domain that i created before.

i called the support and sai that it's because the domain is still hosted with the previous account that wes linked to before,i called the previous admin on the website and said that as long as i have the domain and updated the nameserver and ip address the domain would be hosted on my account,

i need to setup mzonelb.com on the new hosting plan that i bought ... i need whenever i go to my hosting, i see the doamin hosted with wordpress and can manage it.
thanks

You can ask the godaddy support to transfer your domain to newer account.

Can you check to see if there's a Varnish plugin under Plugins? Could be a regular plugin or a must-use one.

Also, is there a setting page for Varnish where you can exclude certain files/paths?

OK I guess it's the "class-gd-system-plugin-cache-purge.php". Now only if there's a way to download that plugin so I can take a look at the codes.

There's also an object-cache.php in wp-content/ which reads:

/*
Plugin Name: APC Object Cache
Description: APC backend for the WP Object Cache.
Version: 2.0.6
URI: http://txfx.net/wordpress-plugins/apc/
Author: Mark Jaquith
Author URI: http://coveredwebservices.com/

Install this file to wp-content/object-cache.php

Based on Ryan Boren's Memcached object cache backend
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/memcached/

and here is what the cache-purge.php reads at the header:

/**
 * Class GD_System_Plugin_Cache_Purge
 * Clear the cache at appropriate times.
 * @version 1.0
 * @author Kurt Payne <kpayne@godaddy.com>
 * @see https://github.com/techcrunch/wp-async-task#quick-start

Thank you for your response, James. I followed the instruction on the link you gave me. When I accessed the phpMyAdmin, the siteurl and home already have the proper url but still the site is inaccessible. Please see the site and tell me what's wrong.

Home: http://acaciabusinesssolutions.com/

I can still view the wordpress on its folder but it's messed up and I cannot access the admin anymore.
