kmyer on "Migration from localhost to GoDaddy Wordpress Managed Hosting a disaster"

Yep. Followed config.php conventions on godaddy site to the letter. Also db_host, user, password etc. first tech support at godaddy said it looked correct (last night), second TS changed config host name to format db_user.db.(last 7 digits of db_user).hostsource.com (this morning). 2.5 hrs ago third tech support said, not only was this naming convention contrary to documentation but said they he had never even seen it before. told him it was tier 2 and he said his tier 2 guy wanted to change it. On this third call tier 2 tech said they had to run a backend process to change the table name prefixes on my imported database (not documented on site or mentioned by either tech before). And that despite my getting a successful import message two days earlier from godaddy phpadmin acct no database appears to be imported. I was able to import a second time and tables are actually showing up this time. By the way the last tier 1 tech support guy told me that they are not required to help us with config files. But tech support tier 2 would review if and when he got a chance.

What would help is where do I find Db_host info?

If I go out on php MyAdmin and select my wp db and then click on the server ip link top left and then select system variables and search for host name it gives me a 20 char string followed by ".shr.prod.phx3.securesever.net" is that hostname that replaces 'localhost" in my config file?

If so it the second recommendation that DOES NOT MATCH THE GODADDY DOCUMENTATION. But I'm getting desperate. It is also the only db hostname I can find.
