I finally figured this out.

In order to make Ninja Forms work on a Synology DiskStation it's imperative that the From email address in Ninja Forms Notifications is EXACTLY the same email address as you've entered in the Notification Control Panel of the Synology DSM.

I hope this helps other DiskStation owners.
