Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, and I have a question that I can't figure out....
I run the website for my church on wordpress.com (with a domain from Go Daddy mapped to it), however we decided it was time to switch to wordpress.org. I got hosting through Go Daddy and got it all set up, but now the problem starts. I can't figure out how to allow visitors to continue to view our current (wordpress.com) site while I edit our new (wordpress.org) site. I created a subdomain ex.(www.mychurch.org/newsite) and installed the wordpress.org files to it, but when I would try to view the login page (www.mychurch.org/newsite/wp-login.php) it takes me back to a page on my current site which states "Oops! Page Not Found".
So, I guess I'm asking can I have a subdomain with wordpress.org and still have my wordpress.com site available to visitors? The only other thing I was thinking of was buying another domain and designing the new site on it, before changing it over to my main domain.
I hope that's enough information and not to confusing....
